So for the past couple of weeks my car started making this awful metallic rattling sound whenever I accelerated, especially from a stop, and I honestly thought it was something loose in the suspension or maybe a heat shield. Took it to a garage in Mussafah and they put it on the lift, turned out the flex pipe on the exhaust had a big crack and the whole thing was vibrating against the subframe. They offered to just weld it temporarily but I figured I'd rather get proper car exhaust system repair and maintenance services done right since I plan to keep the car for a few more years. Found Royal Prince Auto Care through a coworker who had his BMW done there, and they replaced the damaged section plus the rear muffler hanger that was also rusted out. The best part is the car feels quieter than it has in months and no more embarrassing noises at traffic lights. Cost was reasonable too compared to the dealership quote I got earlier. Just wanted to share in case anyone else is chasing a weird rattle and hasn't thought to check the exhaust.
