Can A Website Redesign Help A Small Business Grow?

A few weeks ago, I helped my friend fix his small business website. He had good services, but the website was not bringing many enquiries. Some pages looked old, the menu was confusing, and customers struggled to find important details. At first, he wanted to spend more money on online ads. We decided to improve the website before doing that. We removed unnecessary sections, made the menu easier, updated the pictures, and improved the mobile pages. After the changes, the website felt cleaner and easier to use. Has anyone else tried a website redesign service when facing similar problems too?
